191 resin and 196 resin are o-phenylene unsaturated resins, which are common in the fiberglass industry.
So what is the difference between 191 resin and 196 resin? There are mainly three points:
1. Different characteristics
191 resin products have small shrinkage and good mechanical properties, while 196 resin is a semi-rigid resin with better impact resistance and more durable material.
2. Different applications
191 resin is mainly used to make ventilation ducts, while 196 resin is suitable for furniture coatings, cast products, etc.
3. Different meanings
196 resin is a solution of polyester and styrene, which has good impact resistance. 191 resin has low viscosity and good stability.
191 resin and 196 resin are two different materials. They are quite different. Although they are both unsaturated resins, they are two common resin grades. When using them, you must learn to distinguish between these two materials. If you are making a fiberglass shell or the like, it is recommended to use 196 resin. For general waterproofing and anti-corrosion applications, 191 resin will be more affordable.
Warm reminder: The storage period of resin below 25℃ is three to six months (three months for pre-accelerated resin and six months for non-pre-accelerated resin). The storage period above 30℃ will be further shortened.
